Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
failure to appear in court
I failed to appear in court for a misdemeanor petty theft. I was served a bench warrant and am about to pay my bail. When I receive my new court date, can/will they remand me at that time, and how can I prevent it?

Re: failure to appear in court
It appears that since you are out on bail that most Courts would allow you to remain free on bail..assuming you make your future appearances, no other cases///. Best solution to avoid the possibility of a remand on your next date is to hire Counsel to appear with you.DJM
