Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

fals arrest/suspended sentence

My sister-in-law conspired with a friend and , had my brother arrested for supposed domestic abuse, threats, etc. She later admitted to making it up, and was convicted of a felony. Her sentence was suspended with a very small fine. What exactly does a suspended sentence mean? There were also a lot of issues with her children and social services, and she had a list of stipulations she has to fulfill. Does this mean if she does not do these things that she will end up having to serve her sentence?

Re: fals arrest/suspended sentence

A suspended sentence is a sentence imposed by the court, but the person does not go into custody so long as they obey the terms of the probation.
