Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
False Accusations.....
Here's my situation. I'm a cafe manager in Northern California. I was informed by my company's corporate office that a customer is accusing me of going into the men's room and exposing myself to his wife and 13 year old daughter. You may ask what are two females doing in the men's room? Well, this customer had gotten sick and was throwing up in the men's room. I went in to ask if he was ok. He said no. I called for medical attention. His wife had entered the men's room to check on him. At no point did I ever completely enter the men's room, use the urinal, or expose myself to anyone!
But this customer is accusing me of traumatizing his daughter and wife and has told the corporate office that they are witnesses if and when he goes to the police. I was asked to write out a statement of the incident. Other employees were there and will write out statements to contradict what this customer has said.
what are my legal options in case this gets sent to the police? I question why this customer hadn't gone to the police when he says this occured. Will the police arrest me? Will I be charged?
And even if this person doesn't go to the police do I have any legal recourse to punish this person for falsely accusing me and damaging my name?

Re: False Accusations.....
You should contact an attorney regarding this matter. If the police contact you refer them to your attorney. This may well be one of those Wendy's situation, in which they want to sue for a large sum of money.
