i forged a caltrans paper what am i looking at in punishment

Before you can be punished first you would need to be charged, tried, and convicted. What kind of Caltrans paper did you forge? Do you work for Caltrans?

I take it you mean you forged document which said you completed certain number of Caltrans hours, submitted it to the court and the court found out about it.

The court does not look lightly upon people lying to it. You certainly will be punished - how it is difficult to say without knowing more about your case. It is also possible that a separate felony perjury charge will be filed against you.
