Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

someone who is falsifying information to police about me

I am being harassed by someone who thinks that I am sleeping with her boyfriend. I have told her that I am not and to please stop bothering me. Well I have gotten numerous texts and numerous calls from her. She is looney toons! I have only responded to a few of her threatening texts. I don't even know her boyfriend! Today she called the police department and told them that I was selling drugs with her ex boyfriend which is false information. What can I do to make her stop this ludicrous activity. She won't stop. I have asked her to quit calling me. She won't. I don't need any more problems from her. Help!

You can apply to the court for a restraining order preventing harassment. This is something you can hire an attorney to help you do, but most people of modest means are unrepresented. You might be able to find more information at www.courtinfo.ca.gov . If she is leaving you threatening text messages, voice messages and/or emails, save these as they are admissible evidence that would support issuance of a restraining order, and possibly also a lawsuit for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Watch out for legal time limits.
