Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

can felonies be dropped to misdemenors?

I was passenger in a car with two other friends that was pulled over the other night. As it turns out the drivers licence was suspended. He isnt on probation or parole yet they imediately detained him for pc 11550. They detained the other passenger and then myself with once again the assumption of pc 11550. After searching the vehicle lead them nowhere, they were convinced that one of us was holding drugs so they took us in to search us. my question is: I had a .2 of crystal meth in my bra that i had forgotten was there. they charged me with felony possesion, felony transporting into a police facility, and misdemenor under the influence. However im a college student and felony charges may result in expulsion from school. Is there any way that these felonies can be dropped to misdemenors? Do you have any suggestions on a course of action i should take?

If they arrested you and searched you how can they claim you transported drugs into a police station? Did you volunteer to go to the police station? Felonies don't go away by themselves. If you have extra money to buy crystal meth then you have money to hire a lawyer, which would be a good idea about now.

There is only one advice - get a good lawyer to review and fight your case. It's possible your search and arrest were not legal.
