Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Felony domestic violence and cannot afford an attorney
my brother has been charged with felony domestic violence and is facing 2 yrs in prison. We cannot afford an attorney and we were told that an appointed attorney would not make a difference and more than likely go to jail. What can we do?

Your brother should get the appointed attorney. Even if this option isn't as good as a privately-retained lawyer, it is far better than no lawyer at all.
