Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

If you are on Felony probation and a (false) charge (273b) is brought against you, never receive notice and so therefore have a failure to appear and a warrant out what will happen when you turn yourself in?

Unfortunately, you could be arrested. You say you did not receive a notice. You need to contact a criminal attorney in your area A.S.A.P. To be blunt, I mean immediately obtain counsel so they can determine why you received no notice to appear. Do it today, that is my suggestion. But to answer your question, most likely you will be arrested and detained immediately.

You have a couple of problems. First - any allegation of a new crime (just the allegation) can also trigger an allegation that you have violated your felony probation. That could mean you get taken in and held on no bail.

Then of course, you have the new case to worry about.

Time for the best local criminal defense attorney you can get. Start looking immediately. They may be able to work something out where you don't go into custody, but you lose that bargaining position if you wait to be arrested on the warrant.
