Felony warrant for corporal punishment with intent to cause bodily injury
In 9/2006 i files a complaint against my boyfriend for domestic violence basically just wanting the cops to remove him from my home. Now 6 months later we are back together and trying to work it out and he finds out that even though the cops never found him and spoke with him about my complaint(because he left the state and moved to his mothers house when he found out the cops were looking for him), he has now found out that they have a felony warrant for him for corporal punishment and the lady on the phone told him he should just turn himself in! Well he is totally freaked out now and is panicing and has his self so worked up worried what may happen to him and he has been trying so hard to become a better person, got a full time job got his license back paying on his debts, etc. And he's asking me for help and i don't know what to tell him. Can you shed any light on this subject for us and can you give us any helpful information as to what he should do and how to deal with this. He's afraid this is going to ruin his life completely and possibly put him in prison doing time?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

He has a choice, 1. turn himself and be prepared to proceed with the help of an attorney he has returned; or 2. do nothing and wait for the warrant to be served. Most of these warrants are served when the person is involved in a traffic stop. This can be very embarrassing as well as inconvenient.
