Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

i have felony warrants that are one year old. I just found out and never got any letters in the mail to come to court or anything like that. The DA picked up the case a year later. I was told if I come to court I will be arrested. What do I do??

Plain and simple - you are facing felony charges. You need a lawyer. Discuss it with them BEFORE you go to court. If you cannot afford a lawyer, request a public defender.

As above, getting an attorney is the only good advice. It sounds from what you are saying that the case was filed after your original court date, i.e., you went to court as ordered and nothing was filed at that time. Later, charges were apparently filed; you did not receive notice of that.

In that case, getting rid of the bench warrant should not be an issue for an attorney. After that, the open felony case must be dealt with. Good luck!
