Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I want to file a criminal complaint against a consumer who misreported personal information on a credit application with my company. I am filing a civil case as well. Who do I file the criminal complaint with and what do I need to provide? Thanks.

A "criminal complaint" is the specific legal term for a document filed with the court by the District Attorney, formally charging a defendant with a crime. They cannot be filed by private parties.
If you believe your company has been the victim of a crime, you can report it to your local law enforcement agency, which will forward reports to the DA, who will decide whether to file criminal charges.
However, unless your company suffered some sort of a loss as the result of this false information, don't expect the police or DA to be too enthusiastic about following up on your report.
