Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have filed papers with the court to have my misdemeanors expunged; if all goes well, this will happen in March. After I filed the papers, I received a Summons saying that I am being sued for breach of contract to a loan company for unpaid monies from many years ago. My question is: does this Summons/possible judgment affect my qualifications/ability to have the misdemeanors expunged?

No. If the debt is "many years ago," it may be legally uncollectible, and you should see an attorney. Do not attempt to fill out forms or respond to the summons until you have spoken in person to an attorney.
