filing a report
i was threatened with a knife about 4 years ago by an ex boyfriend. can i still file charges against this person?

You can file a report if the police will take it. However the statute of limitations for most felonies is 3 years. Even if he is charged with a crime proving it after 4 years would me very difficult.
