how to find the defense lawyer

do have to talk to the police if i have a eyewitness statement to make, can't i just go directly to the defense attorney and tell him.how do i find out who the defense lawyer is.they got the wrong person.how can i tell without revealing myself

Keep in mind that your statement will be more credible if you go to the police first and as soon as possible, if you honestly want to help someone who is wrongly accused. The police would also tell you who the defense attorney is and what kind of policy they have about keeping identity of witnesses confidential. Hope this helps.

A defense attorney can contact the police for you and negotiate on your behalf. However, if you want the police to know what happened, they may insist upon a statment from you. Otherwise, they may not believe the information.

The best thing to do is contact a lawyer, tell him/her the details and see what your options are.
