Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Finding old arrest information

Did a background search on someone, found that they have been arrested twice. Have ''Inmate Information'' sheet from Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept. website. This documant does not tell me why they were arested, what the charges were. How can I find that information? Arrests were in Feb and March of 2007. One was an almost immediate release, one she was held for three days.

Lately, the court hearings are listed on the court website, including the charges, the arrest date, etc. Go to the court's website and look up information about the person. It should be there, depending on the county.

Even though an arrest is a public record, You need the case number for the criminal complaint. Armed with that information you can go down to the courthouse and pull the docket. The docket will contain the criminal charges filed.
