Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Firearms and Paroles

My fiancee is trying to join the military. He has never been convicted of a violent crime. His charges were all misdemeanor petty theft, but his priors added up to felony charges. He was discharged from parole and received a card stating he has all of his rights back. His recruiter did a police check and it says he is never to be in posession of a firearm. He has never been convicted of a violent felony, never been in posession of a firearm. We need to know the next step as it is crucial that he join the military. If you have any advice it is greatly appreciated.

Re: Firearms and Paroles

He should get copies of each of the crimes he was convicted. Then he can go to an attorney and discuss his options.
