Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
forced to make a plea public defender misrepresention
Four yrs ago I was arrested for domestic violence.A
crime I did not commit. At the first hearing I was
appointed an public defender.Which I spoke to 3 min
before my case was called.I was advised to plead not
guily, but if I did I would remain in jail for 30 days
until a trial was scheduled.I have never been in
trouble my entire life.I was told the judge did not
issue o.rs if I pleaded no contest she would release
me and sentanced me. I went back the next day to have
my plea reverse. again p.d spent 2 min with me denied
p.d would not file and appeal said he could not. Today
I have a warrent. There has been several news paper
articals written on this judge and the attorneys were
requesting there cases to be heard in another court
room. I contacted the public defenders office again
they will not help me fight this.I cant afford a
lawyer.I have daily nightmares. I am such a good
person. I need some help please I have even written to
the gov on this requesting an traditional pardon but I
do not quailify. There must be something someway to
open this case again and give me a chance to prove I
didnt commit this crime I was accused

Re: forced to make a plea public defender misrepresention
Your problem is mental, and not entirely legal. You made choices and as a result of those choices certain things happened.
I can't tell from reading your question or facts if you completed your sentence. If you were convicted of a misdemeanor and/or felony and completed you time, time in prison disqualifies you, you can obtain a form from the clerk at the court, and have your misdemeanor dismissed or your felony downgraded to a misdemeanor.
I believe you'll still suffer the consequences of not being able to own or carry a gun for recreation or employment.
