Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
forgery second degree burglary
I was approached by Auditmarket.com through CareerBuilder.com. This was a broker type job. I was sent 4 checks = 3,840.00. The checks turned out to be fake. I did not know the checks were a forgery. The bank let me deposit them and sent me a letter stating the funds are available. The police came - I was not arrested. two weeks later the DA filed charges against me. I am getting a lawyer. WHat can I expect?

Re: forgery second degree burglary
You can expect the DA to move forward with your case. Without seeing the information that was filed against you, it sounds like you are being charged with a felony, but since it is second degree, it will not be a strike.
There are serious consequences to this matter. Do not talk to the DA or the police!
