Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

forgery

i live in california, and my boyfriend

was arrested today for a crime he did

5 weeks ago. the nature of the crime

is forging a state seal. pc 472 He

went to a casino to collect his

winnings with a fake ID of himself,

he was detained and questioned for

over 6 hours then escorted off of the

casino property and let go. he was

told then that when he obtained a

real dmv ID he would have to call the

casino director, to collect his

winnings. ok so he has called the

man several times this week after

recieving his ID from DMV in the

mail, leaving several messages. His

call was returned today by said man

and was told to come out and collect

his money after he arrived he

discovered it was a set up to get him

out there so they could arrest him.

hes charged with forgery and his bail

is set at 20,00.00 what are his

chances or what is he facing he has

priors, unrelated, but has done some

state time. what should i do?

He may have a good lawsuit against the casino. While the alleged forgery of a state seal is troubling, and he needs to defend that charge, it is certainly not a crime to gamble under an assumed name, or to attempt to collect one's own money.
