What happens when you forget to register for 290. I honestly forgot I have been working. It just slip my mind. Can't afford to go to jail I have a wonderful life. I didn't mean to forget it. I swear. I need help

Bottom line? You need a good criminal defense attorney. I'd strongly suggest you find someone who focuses on criminal law and who routinely practices in the court where this case will be heard.
Depending on what the underlying conviction was for, you could face a misdemeanor if your offense was a misdemeanor or a felonybif he charge that causes you to register is a felony.
To make matters worse, if the underlying charge was a strike, you're looking at state prison for 32 months.
