Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Fraud and Forgery for services

Someone forged my name to gain services for another person. They willfully changed a contract/account that belonged to me. - I have proof of the forgery. - What are the sequence of events that will happen to the accused once I file a police report?

Police will investigate - interview witnesses, etc. - and then will forward their reports to the D.A. The police will also make a recommendation to the D.A. whether to file charges. If charges are filed, the person will have a criminal case to defend. An arrest warrant will issue and the person most likely will need to post bail to remain out of custody while the case is being litigated.
