Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My friend was arrested in California for domestic violence against his girfriend. He was issued a Emergency Protection Order. I went to his house strictly to retreive some clothing for him when she was not at the residence. He is the sole owner of the home and I had his permission to enter the residence. Am I in violation of any laws for going to the house to get him clothing ?

Maybe. It's more likely that your friend broke the law by sending you than that you broke it by going, but there is no way to know without more facts. What does the order say? Does it name you as a restrained party? What did you and your friend say/write/etc. to one another that led you to do this?

You may not have broken any orders or laws, but your friend needs to lawyer up...soon. Good luck..
