Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

if my friend has case for bad checks in missouri and shes in california ...she just had another baby ...her husband is over in iraq for 6 months and they are telling her with a warrent that in order to get it cleared she has to show up back to missouri but for her its impossible to go back isnt there a way they can transfer her case to california courts to take care of it so she can pay what she owes and get her warrent cleared?

Nope. She's accused of breaking Missouri laws and harming a Missourian victim. The facts will be established via the testimony of Missouri witnesses, including the Missouri law enforcement officers who investigated. California has no interest in this case, and its taxpayers have no interest in paying to have it go to trial here. And neither state is going to pay to transport the witnesses and prosecutor to California just for your friend's convenience.

Your friend will have to deal with this in Missouri. She may be able to have a lawyer go to court for her, at least initially, but there is no way she can take move the case to a California court.

No. She has to deal with Missouri. Each of the 50 states are like little sovereigns, with their own laws, subject only to federal law and the United States Constitution.
