My friend has been embesseling from his company
my boyfriend has been crediting his credit card through the company he works for. the credit card system suspects him of embesselment and has notified the owner, what can he do to avoid prison? is this a felony or misdomener? can they reach a settlement without him going to jail?

Your friend should consult an attorney right away. If the amount of the loss is over $400 it can be charged as a felony. If your friend has a prior theft offense, then the offense can be a felony even if the amount is less than $400. Sometimes, an attorney can work something out with the employer before the case ever goes to the police or District Attorney, but he should act fast before they call the police.
