Get him to an attorney now. It is a felony if over $ 500.00. Contact me directly.

Your friend should consult an attorney right away. If the amount of the loss is over $400 it can be charged as a felony. If your friend has a prior theft offense, then the offense can be a felony even if the amount is less than $400. Sometimes, an attorney can work something out with the employer before the case ever goes to the police or District Attorney, but he should act fast before they call the police.

Good luck to your friend.
