Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
A friend of mine was murdered and the district attorney let the defendant plea involuntary manslaughter. The sentencing isn't for another month. If there is new evidence by the public to incriminate the defendant, is it possible to present this evidence to the district attorney where they could get rid of the plea deal and have this go to a jury trial for something of a harsher sentence? Thanks.

No, not if it is a plea bargain to an existing case. More evidence that points to the guilty defendant who is pleading guilty is not going to change the plea deal.
