Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

this girl owed me $600 she wrote me a check for $870 i went to my bank and tried to cash it,but they put a hold and gave me $200.so we went to her bank where she wrote me another check for $500 ,where i was arrested the checks were stolen and when searching me thy found 1mg of meth,i didnt tell them about the first check,the next day i went and paid the $200 back to the bank.now im in court for forgery and the DA says the want to turn it to a felony because they found the other check.i gave them the girls name idont know what to do i have never been in jail.
