Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My girlfriends ex boyfriend came to her home and stole her papered Bulldog. The Sheriffs said they could'nt do anything about it. I find that absurd. What can she do? She has since got the dog back but I want him arrested for grand theft. What is your opinion?

The dog is property under the law. If she had the ownership papers and proof the dog was her property, I don't understand why the Sheriffs could not do anything about it. It sounds like the situation has resolved itself and she got her property back. My opinion is make a Police Report and if it happens again, make sure all the papers are in order and really put pressure on law enforcement to do their job.
Good luck
