Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Giving away my monies

I was arrested on a arrest warrant and the sherrifs took me into custody. They didnt find anything on the original search warrant that they had listed on its inventory list. The warrant was for recieving stolen items. What they did do was take a buch of my own things and now changed the warrant to read that those items are stolen! ? But my question is that they sent me an inventory of the items they took and later as each person was called outta my personal phone book thatthey took! One of the item outta my wallet was a check for two hundred dollars I hadnt cashed yet. They called the person and wanted to know if they wanted to arrest me for forging the check? The person said ''HUH''? ''He didnt forge the check I paid him that check for computer repairs and no they didnt wanna press charges because he worked for that money. They then told her to come pick the check up. NOW my question is: How can they give away my monies and the check was not listed on there inventory sheet so I wonder what else they didnt list and kept of gave away? Can they legally give away my monies? Yes the check was made out to my name. And what are my choices since it wasnt on the inventory sheet they sent me? Thanks

Sounds like you may have a lawsuit for violation of civil rights. Were you criminally charged? Please feel free to call or write.
