Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Glen, I am a retired Sheriff. You disrespectfully andwered a question of mine on law guru. Something isnt right? Yeah.... We lost our son, I found him in his closet after he put a 12 gauge in his mouth. Yes, there is alot wrong. My question isnt whether my wife is a victim, I know she is a victim and also a witness to this stupidity. I am more intested if this is a prosecutable matter or this is a civil matter. I who am also a victim am a little ticked that you find it okay to be sarcastic and or demeaning about a simple question during my wifes and my time of hardship. In fact, who is the victim? The holders of the account where this knicklehead received a check from by misrepresentation or is it the people who donated to our sons memorial fund because never did anyone state that this money was to be used to purchase his personal burial plots. I appreciate your rude comments and will be sure to pass them on to the vicitms in my family, his daughters, brothers, fiance, grandparents, and my wife. You can call me directly if you'd like. Jim Anderson (209) 629-0986.

What agency? What office were you stationed out of? And I can't help but notice despite all the"pity me I am a victim" you don't answer.

How come you don't know in California there is no filing of charges by victims?

Any sheriff would know that, they explain it to people all day long.

Please keep the drama out of this, don't try to get people to side with you out of pity. Where were you a sheriff, what agency? Where were you stationed out of? And did you NEVER EXPLAIN to a domestic violence victim that in California they don't "file charges"? The DA does it, the victim is just a witness.
