Grand theft?

What is the penalty for first ever offense with grand theft and possesion of burglary tools? Is ther e any leanancy toward those who had not intentionally to shoplift goods more than 400 dollars? Can anything be droped for a first criminal offense??

If the amount is considerably less than $400 then you might be in a situation where petty theft is involved and dismissal might be possible if you have clean record. Existence of burglary tools does not help your cause but everything always depends on specific facts and consequences.
