Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
what can i do
i have a grandson that keeps getting brought in by the police as a prime suspect in a crime but he is innocent and has an iron clad alibi (me and his school teacher)that he wasn't any-where close to the crime. even though i have stated it to the police they don't seem to care. he hasn't been charged with anything yet and attorneys that we contacted say they can't do any-thing until he is charged or arrested. is there anything that can be done to get the police off his back???? he has not had any contact with the police until this

I would retain a competent criminal attorney to assist you in this matter. If you go to my website you will find valuable information for criminal defendants. In the meantime, I would advise your grandson not to speak to the police without having an attorney being present. If you're in Southern California, you may contact me for a free consultation. I am sure we can work something out with respect to representing your grandson in this matter.

I am not aware of any thing he can do, unless the conduct of the police department becomes harrassing. However, he should not talk to the police. when the police pick him up he should give only his name address telephone number and date of birth. Then he should tell the police that he does not want to talk to them or make any decisions until he has been allowed to talk to his attorney, and has that attorney present. Then keep a diary of each contact he has with the police.
