Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Grey Davis advising the BPT to not release people in prison

My husband has been incarcerated for 19 yrs for a crime that he did do. He was supposed to be released after 10 yrs with a 5 yrs parole. Well, our current govenor (GD)and the govenor before him (PW) has advised the board of prison terms not to release anyone. I'm sure you have heard of all the talk that has been going on. Is there any attorney that will work with me on getting my husband out of prison? I dont have alot of money, but I need some help, the prison system is getting worse. I have alot of articles to support this

I may be interested in helping you and your husband. Please call my office at 818-342-8020 and use x1. Leave the details of your husbands case including what he was convicted for, appeals that have done, and what prison he is in. Also leave your contact information. Innocent people should not be in jail, but almost all convicts claim to be innocent. If I believe in this case I will help you.

I am sorry to hear about your husband's predicament. Unfortunately, the politics of crime and punishment often interferes justice. I have been practicing criminal law for 21 years and I have experience dealing with post-trial challenges of the type involved here. The facts you present are very sketchy, but your husband MAY have a case for setting aside his plea if he entered the plea in reliance on the court's promise of 10 years actual time. The state's policy of refusing release without individual consideration raises another issue. Please feel free to call or write me to discuss this case further.
