Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

harboring a criminal

My spouse was arrested for California pc 32 last night. Our neighbor came to our house after getting into a fist fight with his wife. As far as the police ''know'', my spouse was aware that the police were looking for our neighbor. Initially, we did not let the police come into our home. After they arrested my spouse and told me that I could be arrested, I let them in and they found him in a closet. How much time is my spouse looking at?

Instead of asking how much time, which is in essence giving up, you should be getting her a lawyer so she can fight the charges. Maybe she had every right not to let the police into your home.

Get a lawyer to fight the charges, which perhaps could be beaten, or negotiate some kind of misdemeanor/no jail time disposition. She should not give up and plead to a felony lightly. If she gets am effective diligent and hard working lawyer and has no significant prior record, a good outcome is possible if not likely.
