Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hello,
I recently was iven 2 tickets "to appear" in court due to 2 warrants I didn't know I had. I have a squeeky clean record and have never been to jail. I apparantly had two tickets for "bus fare" evasion which I never got.
I think someone used my info when they got busted. They used my address in May and in July. I moved from that adress at the end of May. So, if any mail got sent there, it would've been returned. Now I have to appear and I'm terrified. I have never been in trouble. The only reason they stopped me at the bus stop this time was because I stepped into the bus path and got back on the curb. I had bus fare.
The cop assigned the same court date & time for both tickets and they're for 2 different court houses.
What can I do? What's the process? Can I handle it before I go before a judge? Will I have to go to jail?
I live in L.A. California

You should contact an attorney in or near your area as soon as possible. Go over all the facts of the allegation and the court-house the issue is going to be heard in, and I'm sure you will have all your questions answered. I wish you well ............. David Wallin
You need an attorney. If you cannot afford one, ask the court to appoint the public defender for you on the day you go to court.
