High risk parolee violation.

How long will a high risk parolee who just received a violation for a dirty urine test,the first test ever to come up dirty, spend in prison?

Re: High risk parolee violation.

The answer will depend primarily upon how much of his original sentence remained when he was released.

If the dirty test leads to a conviction for a new crime, he can be sentenced to additional time behind bars. How much time will depend upon the nature of the new conviction. This additional sentence will technically not be for the parole violation, since he could have been prosecuted for the same conduct even if he had not been on parole at the time.
