Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Highway Patrol seized money (Over 5k amount)
My friend was pulled over, found drugs and found $6k. He was given a receipt,for the money. Is there anyway to get the money back? He has a prescription for medical pot.
This took place outside of San Francisco

The money is being held as evidence to be used when and if he is prosecuted. As long as there is still a chance this will happen your friend can't get it back.
