Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hi,

I was married, things did not work out, I tried to remain his friend but he abruptly discarded me once he found a girlfriend and I had to find out myself, I thought he was sick or missing as he stopped answering my attempts to contact him. Now several months later he suddenly contacts me because he needs help to complete his citizenship and claims I am the only one that can help. I told him where he can stick that. Now he is contacting my mother, hitting her up to help convince me to say yes, as he clearly lacks the stones to ask me again. He and his parents visited my mother at her home and left a note behind since she was away at work. This angers me. If he wants me to be out of his life, then I should stay out of his life. And vice versa. He only comes back when he needs something. He has no reason on earth to know where she lives or visit her. I would help her move right now if I wasn't in another state stuck in a job situation. I feel pretty helpless so far away. My mother is too "nice" to file a restraining order herself. Is it possible to file one on her behalf? Thank you!

No. If she doesn't want the contact, she has to say so. Your mother is over 18 and unless you have some sort of legal relationship over her (like a guardianship or conservatorship), you have no grounds to request that anyone stay away from her.
