Hit and Run

If someone has been accused of a hit and run (and arrested), is he required to report it to the insurance company within a certain amount of time?

Yes, you should notify your insurance company of the accident, for the following reasons: 1) You are contractually obligated to do so; 2) They will find out anyway; and 3) They might even wind up defending against, or even paying, the claims for damages and injuries you inflicted on the other car and driver -- for which you will certainly be sued. Or would you rather forego any hope of insurance coverage and pay the claims yourself?
