Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
home confinement
We're looking at 6 months home confinement sentence w/ 1 day off for time served in Sonoma Co. We don't have a prob.officer yet and the receptionist mentioned credit or time off for ''work''? but wouldn't say anymore. Can there be any other way to get less time on the home confinement sentence? Thank you.

Re: home confinement
The general rule is that you must serve the entire sentence of home confinement. However, you can arrange with the probation department to leave home for work, grocery shopping, medical appointments etc. The bracelet allows the agency to track you. Any side trips can result in revocation of the home confinement condition. Also the batteries are left in the bracelet until they die. The probation officer then goes to the location at which you are supposed to be and checks the batteries. Any probation violations that are seen will be reported.
