hs11550 vs. hs11550 (a)
I cannot make a distinction between these two codes. Would you please help me.

11550 H&S has several subdivisions, some that define crimes ((a) and (e)). Subdivision (a) makes it unlawful to use or be under the influence of a controlled substance.

As you may know, HS stands for the Health and Safety Code. HS 11550(a) is simply the first portion of HS 11550.
