Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My husband was sentenced to 13 years prison time. He caught another charge and got 6 years added. His legal summary says "life term start date: xx/xx/xxxx" (date included) does that mean he is doing life? Pc 212.5c2nd, pc245a1 2nd, and pc4573.8 1st. I understood 1 strike under California law. Has he been sentenced to life? Shouldnt he have been notified of that if so? )

It sounds like the legal summary is in error. What matters is the actual court sentencing, not a summary you read somewhere. If you spoke to a criminal defense attorney in person, they would actually want to see the sentence from the court file to fully advise you.
