Robert Marshall Law Office of Robert L, Marshall

Concurrent means "at the same time," so his total sentence is three years.

That means he will have to serve st least 80% of 36 months -- which works out to 29 months --minus credit for time spent in jail before sentencing, before he is released. He might serve more; prison officials can take away some or all of the 20% good behavior credits for violations of prison rules.
