Identity Theft

I was arrested for Identity theft when I didnt even know the SSN belonged to another person and I took out a loan for a car and furniture store when I was taken to court I was released because the file was not found according to a court person there my question is what do I do now since there was no ruling?

My hunch is that charges will be eventually filed. Best option is to retain a lawyer for a modest fee to monitor the situation and perhaps resolve the situation prior to any required court appearances.

One thing you absolutely must do is to stay on top, and ideally one step ahead, of any warrants being issued. Just because you made one appearances when asked to do so does not mean the prosecution or the court has any obligation to keep you informed of any future court dates or warrants.

If you call the court or the DA to inquire about your case, make sure you do not discuss the facts of your case with anyone. That means no one except your own lawyer.
