Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Is it illegal for someone to portray themself as next of kin when they are not and make medical decisions resulting in end of life in full knowledge that there are in fact next of kin to contact? Then take possessions of deceased's property before contacting next of kin for signature for funeral arrangements and cremation of the body? Sealing the hospital records so that next of kin cannot access without a court order? This is in San Diego County
