illegal search of a trunk

I was parked outside my boyfriends work, in the passanger seat taking a nap waiting for him to pick up his tools, when there was a knock on my window. It was the Lodi police. They asked if I had been drinking. I said ''yes, I had earlier that evening''. They arrested me for public intoxication. They towed the car,which was on private property, and they searched my trunk without permission.
