immigration hold

Can an immigration hold be lifted to a person held in custody charged with 2 felonys? he has been held over 3 months, a trustee, a non violent inmate, state bail set at 130 000 but no point to bailing him out as he has an immigration hold. i have heard if bail was set under 100 000 we can appeal for the hold to be lifted so he can fight his criminal case outside the prison. he has lived here for over 15 years. uk citizen

Re: immigration hold

Immigration hold is generally based on the strength of the person's immigration status as well as the seriousness of the crime(s) involved. For example, there will pretty much always be a hold if the defendant is here illegally to begin with. You need a special breed of immigration lawyer to deal with issues such as removal proceeding or lifting of immigration holds. I have someone I could recommend to you if you contact me directly.
