ineffective counsel

Do have right to fire my court appointed lawyer at any time during my case? does my lawyer have a right to discuss my case with other lawyers that i have talk to about my case? This lawyer has done nothing beneficial for my case he works with the da and has done absolut show up hurting my case.

You always have the right to fire the attorney, except at certain stages of the case the judge will not allow it.

You can fire your appointed and represent yourself unless you can afford to hire an attorney. You do not have right to select the appointed attorney. You can request that the court conduct an in camera hearing with you and the attorney to discuss whether he is providing effective assistance. If you can gain access to this case read it. (People v. Marsden (1970) 2 Cal.3d 118 [84 Cal.Rptr. 156; 465 P.2d 44])
