Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Infraction or Misdeamenor???

I recently hired an attorney to represent me on a case and was told after the hearing the charge was reduced to an infraction, I only had to pay a fine and it would not show up on any background check/ would not be classified as a criminal offense... I finally got a copy of the court docket and noticed the charge was listed as PC 148.9 (it's hard to read but may say ''2) PC 148.9''). Upon doing my own research it looks to me like this is a misdeamenor. Is it possible that this charge can be classified in different ways? Or is it possible that it would be filed differently than the docket says? Also, is an attorney required to disclose whether or not someone else will represent me other than the attorney I retained. I asked this specific question to the attorney and also on the docket I see someone else's name listed as ''Attorney for the Defendent''... Any outside guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Court Docket should specifically say the offense was charged or reduced as an infraction. If it does not say that, you must change it. Your lawyer should handle it. I would not settle for anything less, if I were you.
