Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Thank you for all your input- Still amazes me it has got to this.
I am still amazed that a verbal arguement is getting this much out of hand.
There are murders, DUI's, armed robbers that are getting less attention then me from the courts. All because I told someone if he doesn't stop stealing/taking money from the company he was 'dead'
Two phone calls has now cost me Thousands, 5 months of court dates, and 4 days in court.
Amazing.
Is this the norm in the courts? or just in Orange County?

Every case is different. The charges against you are serious, so it should be no surprise that they are being taken seriously. That you don't take them seriously seems to be part of the problem.
Your perception of how other serious cases are handles is not very accurate. It's true that some end quickly, but that's usually because the prosecutor and the defendant make a plea bargain. If you want to make such a bargain, you may be able to bring your case to an end quickly, too. If you don't, then you shouldn't compare your case to others where such a bargain was made.

Orange County can be tough indeed.
