Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Possible Jail Time
I have a friend who was on a six year probation and he was arrested for supposedly buying alcohol for minors and violating probation terms. The police booked him the other day and he will see a judge sometime next week; what are the possible sentencing scenarios? What defense does he have against the accusations against him? What do you recommend?

Re: Possible Jail Time
He could be returned to prison to serve the remainder of his original sentence, however long that may be. He could also pick up some additional time for buying alcohol for minors, which is a crime in its own right in addition to being a violation of his probation terms.
You have offered no information from which I could say whether he has any defenses available to him, much less make any recommendation -- other then that he should consult with his defense attorney ASAP.
